Overland Park, Kansas – The Kappa Epsilon Fraternity is proud to announce that Sherrill Brown has been selected as the 2015 recipient of the Career Achievement Award. The Career Achievement Award was created in 1965 to honor a Kappa Epsilon Member for their professional accomplishments.
Sherrill Brown is a 2003 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy and an Alumni Member of the Omega Chapter. She has been a dedicated member of Kappa Epsilon Fraternity for more than 10 years serving on Grand Council as Vice President of Communications, acting as Grand Council Liaison for several collegiate chapters, and serving as Co-Advisor for the Delta Chapter on campus at the University of Montana. In addition to her years of service to the Fraternity, she also served the Kappa Epsilon Foundation Board as a Trustee and Secretary. Sherrill received the Unicorn Award at Kappa Epsilon’s National Convention in 2009. The Unicorn Award recognizes alumni members serving as the leaders, workers, contributors and creators who make Kappa Epsilon a better organization.
Sherrill has been an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at The University of Montana Skaggs School of Pharmacy since 2004. Sherrill also oversees the provision of drug information to healthcare professionals in Montana and across the US as the Director of the UM Drug Information Service. She teaches Drug Literature Evaluation in the Pharmacy curriculum, precepts students in the Drug Information Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE), and advises students in the pre-pharmacy program. Sherrill is co-director of the Drug Information/Academia Residency program at The University of Montana, as well as a preceptor for the UM PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program.
Prior to completing her Doctor of Pharmacy degree, Sherrill received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1992 and was a small animal veterinarian for five years. After graduating from pharmacy school, she completed a Drug Information Residency at the University of Tennessee/Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. Sherrill is a member of the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists, the American Pharmacists Association, the American College of Clinical Pharmacists, and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. Currently, Sherrill is Chair-Elect for the Library and Information Science Section of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
