Dr. Rasma Chereson began her work as a professor at St. Louis College of Pharmacy (STLCOP) in August, 1985 and retired in May, 2014. Not only was she a wonderful teacher of pharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, and advanced compounding for pharmacy students, she was also the beloved Advisor of the Alpha Omicron Chapter of Kappa Epsilon.
Dr. Chereson attended pharmacy school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she was a member of Kappa Epsilon Zeta Chapter, as well as the highly-regarded academic honor society for pharmacy, Rho Chi. She went on to earn a degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Michigan. With her brilliance and distinctive leadership qualities, she guided hundreds of pharmacy students through challenging academic courses for twenty-nine years at STLCOP.
She has always completely supported the philanthropic work of Kappa Epsilon including KE’s National Project of Breast Cancer Awareness, Ronald McDonald House, the Cinderella Project and many more. She was easy to approach with any questions or concerns that our members might have and played an active role in making changes to better our chapter. She requested to meet with the Alumni Liaison of Alpha Omicron twice a month to catch up on the current events and issues. Her unceasing commitment and attentiveness to the Alpha Omicron Chapter will be greatly missed.
The Alpha Omicron Chapter recently hosted a Retirement Party in honor of Dr. Chereson where we invited all the collegiate and alumnae members of Alpha Omicron. It was a great way for us to show her how much everyone appreciated her hard work and encouragement throughout the years. We were sad to see her go, as she has touched all of our lives, but we are very excited for her as she begins the next chapter of her life! Dr. Chereson has not only been an amazing and supportive Advisor of the Kappa Epsilon Alpha Omicron chapter, she has also been an inspiration to all women in pharmacy.
